Suspect Arrested in Commercial Armed Robbery in Mitchellville

Prince George’s County, Maryland…The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Robbery Unit has made an arrest in the armed robbery of a Popeyes Restaurant in Mitchellville, Maryland that occurred three weeks ago.

On November 4, 2011, two suspects entered the Popeyes Restaurant in the 12100 block of Central Avenue in Mitchellville armed with handguns and announced a robbery. The suspects ordered two store employees to open the safe and place the money into a bag that the suspects provided. After taking the money, the suspects forced the victims into the walk-in freezer and fled the restaurant.

During the course of their investigation, Robbery Unit detectives were able to identify Curtis Lamar Ford, 28, of 300 block of Tamarack Court in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, as one of the suspects who committed the armed robbery. He was arrested today, without incident, on charges of armed robbery.
