PGPD Investigates Car Into House in Riverdale

On June 22, 2012, at approximately 3:30 p.m., patrol officers responded to 57th Avenue and Jenifer Place for the report of a car into a house.  Upon arrival, officers learned that the driver of a Toyota 4-Runner attempted to pass the driver of a Ford Escape.  The passing vehicle struck the Ford, veered off of the roadway and into a yard striking four kids in a portable swimming pool.  The vehicle then came to rest after striking a house.

The four children were transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.   The operator of the striking vehicle and a juvenile passenger were transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries as well as the driver of the Ford.   The investigation into the accident is ongoing and charges are pending.

There are WITNESSES that saw the entire incident. The Ford pulled over and was not passed over, the 4Runner continued on the street after the Ford pulled over, and because the Ford did not have a turn signal so as to warn anyone that they would be turning, the 4Runner kept going. At this point is when the driver of the Ford turned right onto the 4runner causing the driver of the 4Runner to lose control. This is a serious accident and should be THOROUGHLY investigated and witnesses should be interviewed. It is not fair to hear the side of the Ford and not the side of everyone else.
