The Prince George’s County Police Department Takes First Place in Maryland Law Enforcement Challenge

This award comes as the Prince George’s County Police Department has enhanced our approach to reducing pedestrian accidents and fatalities. Co-sponsored by the Maryland Chiefs of Police Association, the Maryland Sheriff’s Association and the Maryland Highway Safety Office, the Maryland Law Enforcement Challenge recognizes and honors those that excel in traffic safety enforcement.

The Maryland Enforcement Challenge is a competition between agencies of similar size and type. This award recognizes and rewards the best overall traffic enforcement programs in the state of Maryland. The areas of concentration include efforts to enforce laws and educate the public about occupant protection, impaired driving prevention, and speeding enforcement.

“I am very proud of the work of our officers and their focus in this area,” says Chief of Police Mark Magaw. “It is an honor to receive recognition for our department’s efforts.”
