PGPD Buys New Use of Force Simulator System

Simulation, pellets fired

Demo weapons

The Prince George’s County Police Department has purchased the Judgmental Enhancement Training System (JETS) MILO Range Pro through state and federal grants. The updated system will provide effective use of force training for PGPD officers, while enhancing their use of force decision-making through the use of 425 training scenarios including an active shooter, emotionally disturbed individuals and traffic stops. Reporters will be given the option to try this new equipment. Those who do, should wear long-sleeved shirts and pants. Participants will, through the use of this new technology, be faced with the decision of making life and death decisions in split seconds. Photographs attached to this advisory depict the “weapons” used as well as the actual pellets the suspect’s “gun” will fire at the participant.
